The Esther Beaver Scholarship

a part of the Soroptimist “Dream It, Be It” Program

Administered by: Soroptimist International of Parker

THE MISSION

Soroptimist International of Parker is a nonprofit organization founded here in Parker in 1965, to empower Women and Girls to “Live Their Dream” through access to education.

Esther Beaver was our founding President in 1965, a long-time member of Soroptimist Int’l of Parker and a prominent community leader in La Paz County, who demonstrated perfectly what it means to be a responsible citizen in today’s society.

To celebrate Esther’s accomplishments in Soroptimist, this scholarship will be awarded to three graduating female high-school students by providing each with a $2,000.00, $1,000.00 & a $500.00 scholarship to help them realize their goals.

THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Our scholarship programs are open to all graduating FEMALE students ages 16 – 19 years who have distinguished themselves as volunteers and/or leaders. Each applicant competes for scholarship funds by completing an application and submitting an essay. You must also submit a letter from a member of our community or official of the school, supporting your selection. It is the goal of this scholarship to provide students the financial support to pursue training or education beyond High School in order to live their lives to their full potential.

ALL female students are encouraged to apply…as winners are not only selected on academic performance but are based on the overall presentation reflected on the scholarship application which includes their accomplishments, goals, volunteer activities, and the “ingenuity” of their essay.
